  1. Man oh man. Some GREAT books here. Who the hell is that come-hither gal with the big hair Annie Ross?

  2. Is that jazz singer Annie Ross of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross fame? Or just some random woman who likes to cook?

This is a truly nauseating collection. Kudos!

  4. How'd you come by that Anderson, SC "Merry Meals" cookbook? Two fun facts concerning the media organizations involved:
    (1) The Daily Mail not only ran Criswell's column as late as 1971, but their affiliated book publishing company Droke House actually published at least one of his books (Your Next Ten Years).
    (2) WAIM ("Where Agriculture and Industry Meet") also had both AM and FM stations under those call letters, and used the slogan "No Jungle Music" in advertising into the early '70s!

  5. Excellent stuff but whatever happened to Paul C. Bragg Ph.T., Life Extension Specialist?

  6. Kate Smith had 55 favorite cake recipes? That sounds like the punch line to a joke! According to Wikipedia, she lived to be 79. Paul C. Bragg on the other hand, who probably never touched cake in his life, only outlived her by 2 years. He made it to 81.

The life-extending power of butter cake. The mind boggles...
